Hello and welcome to Shelf Porn! Today's shelves come from Roberto Alves from Madeira Island, an artist who sent us pictures of his comics, original art and more.

If you'd like to see your collection featured here on Shelf Porn, check out the submission instructions for complete details.

And now let's hear from Roberto ...

*****

My name is Roberto Macedo Alves and I am an Artist and Serial Entrepreneur in Madeira Island, a beautiful and small island part of the Portuguese Republic.

Most of my Shelf Porn stuff is in a big room that I use as a studio, to draw and read when I have time.

I've been collecting comics since I was 4 years old (my first comic is from 1979) and never stopped.

I was never a fan of putting comics in boxes, I prefer to have all the comics vertically on shelves, for easier classification:

Here is the drawing table, facing the big comics shelf, with a copy of the "WALLY WOOD'S 22 PANELS THAT ALWAYS WORK" for guiding and inspiration:

For sentimental reasons, I also keep here my first and second Macs and the old typewriter I used to write my first stories, when I was 8:

Near the drawing table, there are shelves with the "How to draw" books, the "Modern Masters" and other relevant books about drawing and art:

A "V" Mask signed by David Lloyd, Action Figures, Heroclix figures, Artist's Editions and a photo of the beach are all part of the collection:

The Absolute Editions are on a separate shelf, plus Street Art and Advertisement books:

Some lead figurines of my favorite characters of Marvel and DC, plus a Portuguese Star Wars comic collection and Battlestar Galactica comics:

On the only wall without shelves, I have all the original art, plus the comfy reading sofas:

Some of the original pages from David Lloyd, Colleen Doran, Mike Wieringo, Rick Leonardi, Mark Bagley, Ron Frenz, etc. And portuguese artists José Carlos Fernandes, Roberto Gomes, Valter Sousa, Filipe Andrade, Ricardo Cabral:

Finally, here are some of my first comics: old Portuguese and Brazilian Disney and Marvel editions my parents bought me when I was a child. Those comics were read and re-read so much they almost disintegrated!
