To celebrate its sixth anniversary, Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi has partnered with Hasbro to create a special-edition MiPad 2 that's more than meets the eye.

OK, it's not actually a version of the company's bestselling tablet, but rather a convincing toy that merely looks like one. It's really a a Transformer that turns from a slim, 7mm tablet into the Decepticon Soundwave through a 30-step assembly process. (Yeah, sorry, you can't go online with this MiPad.)

Priced at about $20, the Transformers Special Edition MiPad 2 is being crowdfunded, with orders shipping to backers next month. If U.S. Transformers collectors are lucky, maybe they'll be able they'll find Soundwave on eBay soon after.
