It's never too early to start holiday shopping for that special someone, and if that special someone happens to be a Star Wars fanatic and you don't mind payment installment plans, then do we have the gift for you! Sideshow Collectibles recently unveiled a new, limited edition life-size replica of R2-D2, painstakingly detailed and complete with working lights and sound effects. And, best of all, it can be yours for the price of $7,450.

At four feet tall and based on sculpting by Pascual Wawoe with paint detail by Bernardo Esquive, this Artoo model measures up exactly to his depiction in the Star Wars franchise. It also includes film-accurate lights, sounds and dome movements activated by a remote control that can be stored in the droid next to its speaker system. If all that's not enough, the unit comes with a Millennium Falcon-themed mounting base, because why not?

Is $7,450 a bit steep for you? Don't worry! Sideshow allows an installment plan, breaking up the collectible's price into ten monthly payments of $745. Once it's fully paid for, then Artoo can truly become the droid you were looking for. The Astromech unit isn't available to ship until at least May of next year, so that at least gives you some time to start planning your life around those installment plans.
