Earlier today Superman Homepage teased the possible release of a new trailer for director Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel," Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures new movie based on DC Comics' Superman. After a Kryptonian countdown on IWillFindHim.com reached its conclusion at 5:16 EDT, a new trailer emerged into the wild.

This third theatrical trailer focuses on the idea of Superman as a mythical, almost legendary figure, beginning with Jor-El (Russel Crowe) sending his infant son Kal-El away from a dying Krypton and following his adolescence in Smallville, Kansas. From there he ventures out to explore the world -- and the impact his abilities could have on it before ultimately donning his cape and uniform and becoming Superman (Henry Cavill). Beginning with Jor-El's narration, the trailer lets various characters in the film speak about what Clark/Superman's (Henry Cavill) existence on Earth means, before letting him pose some questions about his own place in that world. There's also an amusing scene at the end regarding the famous "S" on Superman's chest, and how on Krypton the symbol means "hope." "Well, here it's an S," Lois Lane (Amy Adams) assures him.

"Man of Steel" opens June 14.
