In "The Wrong Side," I examine comic book fights that were particularly notable in the wrong side winning (or at least that the fight wasn't won the "right" way). This really isn't a big deal, of course, as it doesn't really matter if the "wrong" person won a fight. But it's fun to talk about!

If you want to suggest a fight for future inclusion in this feature, drop me a line at brianc@cbr.com. Don't suggest a fight in the comments!

Today, we look at the time that Harvey Dent (not technically Two-Face at the time, but still) kicked Killer Croc's ass.

Sadly, neither Killer Croc nor Two-Face have fought Spider-Man, so I'll have to have Batman fill in for Spider-Man.

Batman first really fought Killer Croc in "Batman" #359 (by Gerry Conway, Dan Jurgens and Dick Giordano), where he cleans Batman's clock pretty easily...

In "Batman" #471 (by Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle), Batman even flat out says, "Yeah, I can't hang with this guy." Batman!

As for Two-Face, he's just a dude, right? I mean, isn't the iconic shot of Two-Face him flipping his coin with one hand and holding a gun with the other? Because the dude's a criminal genius, not a fighter.

In "Batman" #442 (by Marv Wolfman, Jim Aparo and Mike DeCarlo), Tim Drake (before he had any training from Batman at all) and Alfred sort of held their own with him...

To be fair, though, Frank Miller and David Mazzuchelli made it clear that Dent was in good enough shape that a reasonable cop like Jim Gordon could at least be a little bit suspicious of him being Batman...

By the way, Killer Croc got a power increase after those fights! In "Batman" #608 (by Jeph Loeb, Jim Lee and Scott Williams) Batman has to use hypersonics to defeat Croc...

So now on to the fight!

So Batman decided to take some time off after the events of "Infinite Crisis," so he, Robin and Nightwing take time off to travel and do some male bonding. Batman decides not to leave Gotham City under the protection of Batgirl for...uhmm...reasons? Instead, he decides to entrust the city to the newly "cured" Harvey Dent.

So right off the bat, in "World War III" #2 (by Keith Champagne, Andy Smith and Ray Snyder), Dent showed off his skills by beating the crap out of Killer Croc...

Suffice it to say that I don't think it works for Harvey Dent to beat a guy like Croc as easily as that. How could Dent even get the force for the chokehold to EFFECT Croc?

Well, that's it for this time! If you have a suggestion for a fight that you think the "wrong" side won, drop me a line at brianc@cbr.com!
