THE WOLVERINEJames Mangold spoke with SFX Magazine about the interconnectivity between "The Wolverine" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past." The reality may actually be that no interconnectivity exists.

"Bryan and I have talked and he's seen what we've done," Mangold told SFX. "Clearly the reality is that we are all trying to work together and make things groove together. But the trick is we were making our movie before Bryan came on and before I knew what they were up to in that film. Our agenda was always our agenda and our movie stands alone, so the journey we take Logan on in 'The Wolverine,' we bring to a close."

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2The Belfast Telegraph spoke with actress Felicity Jones about her as-yet-unidentified role in Marc Webb's "Amazing Spider-Man 2."

"It's top secret," Jones told the Telegraph. "I can tell you that she's sort of on the baddie's side, but I can't explain much more than that."

Meanwhile, rumors began last week that actress Sarah Gadon would replace Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane in the "Amazing Spider-Man" franchise. Gadon has taken to Twitter, effectively debunking the rumor. She has, however, been cast in the film in yet another mystery role.

To all those a twitter, I will not be playing MJ in Spider-Man. I have a role in the film, but it is not that one :)— Sarah Gadon (@SarahGadon) June 21, 2013

KICK-ASS 2Jim Carrey has distanced himself from "Kick-Ass 2" via Twitter, citing the Sandy Hook tragedy, going on to say, "My apologies [...] to others involve with the film. I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart."

I did Kickass a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence. My apologies to e— Jim Carrey (@JimCarrey) June 23, 2013

"Kick-Ass" creator Mark Millar responded to Carrey's statement on his message board, expressing his surprise at the development.

"Yes, the body-count is very high, but a movie called 'Kick-Ass 2' really has to do what it says on the tin," he continued. "A sequel to the picture that gave us HIT-GIRL was always going to have some blood on the floor and this should have been no shock to a guy who enjoyed the first movie so much. My books are very hardcore, but the movies are adapted for a more mainstream audience and if you loved the tone of the first picture you're going to eat this up with a big, giant spoon. Like Jim, I'm horrified by real-life violence (even though I'm Scottish), but 'Kick-Ass 2' isn't a documentary. No actors were harmed in the making of this production! This is fiction and like Tarantino and Peckinpah, Scorcese and Eastwood, John Boorman, Oliver Stone and Chan-Wook Park, 'Kick-Ass' avoids the usual bloodless body-count of most big summer pictures and focuses instead of the CONSEQUENCES of violence, whether it's the ramifications for friends and family or, as we saw in the first movie, Kick-Ass spending six months in hospital after his first street altercation. Ironically, Jim's character in 'Kick-Ass 2' is a Born-Again Christian and the big deal we made of the fact that he refuses to fire a gun is something he told us attracted him to the role in the first place."

Also, there's a new poster for the film that's been released. Thanks to Comic Book Movie for the heads up.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLESThe Huffington Post spoke with actor William Fichtner about his current career and his unrevealed role in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" -- well, not unrevealed anymore.

"I play Shredder," Fichtner said. "It is cool. It's one of those things that came along where I thought, 'Really? Let me think about this for a minute.' [Laughs] Then I was like, 'Yeah, OK, this sounds like a journey.' I'm very glad that it worked out, I'm really glad that I'm doing it."

WORLD WAR ZAccording to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount will actively turn to developing a sequel for "World War Z," which earned $66 million at the box office this weekend. Hopefully, the sequel's development will fare better than the original's, which experienced starts, stops and an extensive reworking of the third act. Originally set to open in December 2012, "World War Z" came out this past weekend, and while the box office numbers are undeniably strong, hopefully a sequel will experience less road bumps to get there.

INDEPENDENCE DAY 2The New York Daily News reports that Will Smith will not reprise his "Independence Day" role in the upcoming sequel.

"Will Smith can not come back because he's too expensive, but he'd also be too much of a marquee name," director Roland Emmerich told the NY Daily News. "It would be too much."

Reportedly, the "Independence Day" sequel is the first of a two-part story.

HERCULESDwayne Johnson has posted a behind-the-scenes look at some of the weapons for the upcoming "Hercules" film adaptation by Brett Ratner.

UNDER THE DOME"Under the Dome" premieres tonight, and the cast and executive producers did a question and answer session in Wilmington, North Carolina in anticipation of the premiere.

"I was teaching school and I started to think about all these people on a highway who were trying to talk to reporters and their loved ones and there were Army people around and you couldn't see anything, but when anybody touched it - you could even put your hand up to your loved one's hand, and there would be no difference between them, but you couldn't reach through," series creator Stephen King said. "I thought, 'This is a hell of a situation, particularly if you want to talk about diminishing resources and how people get along when they're involved in a crisis situation, when there's no medicine. All those were concerns in the '70s."

Premieres tonight on CBS
