THE WALKING DEADDuring last night's episode of "The Walking Dead," a big plot development took place. It's a major spoiler, so be sure to skip down to the next section if you haven't seen last night's episode because pretty much every tidbit of "The Walking Dead" news today has to do with that development.

Sarah Wayne Callies spoke with Entertainment Weekly about her character Lori Grimes and [SPOILER]how she prepared for Lori's untimely death in last night's episode.

"I think in a way the preparation for that scene was the two-and-a-half seasons I shot before it. I got that script, I read it once, and it took me a half-hour to recover," said Callies. "I knew how it was going to happen, but you read the words and go 'Argh! Well, f-, there's that.' And then I just figured you can't plan that. The worst thing you can do is get in your own way and think about it too much. So I learned the lines and I just ran the scene once a day alone in my head. And I watched a lot of stuff. Guy Ferland [the director of the episode] is just one of my favorite directors ever. He and I go back to Prison Break. And he shot the scene where Jon Bernthal dies. Apparently, they bring him in to kill off the leads of the show! [laughs] So Guy and I had been talking for about a month, and I said. 'What are the great deaths? What are the deaths that we believe?' So Guy and I both watched 'Full Metal Jacket.' And I was really struck by Arliss Howard in that [as Cowboy]. It's a really, quick, kind of strange death. So we watched a lot of stuff and read a lot. But Chandler [Riggs] and I really did not rehearse the scene until we just sort of got there. And we all decided we all had so many emotions in our hearts right now, so let's give ourselves permission to be really raw and be really honest with each other even though it's going to hurt. That's probably the best way to get this done."[/SPOILER]

Here's a sneak peek of next week's episode, "Say the Word."

Finally, The Hollywood Reporter spoke with showrunner Glenn Mazzara about replicating the iconic moments of Robert Kirkman's "The Walking Dead" comic in the television show -- and whether they might even show up. For example, when Rick gets his hand cut off by The Governor in the comic.

"We're going to take our time telling that story line and the events of the comic you can see are already diverging with the series with the idea that Andrea and Michonne are the ones who find the helicopter crash and go in and are welcomed in Woodbury. Everything is game; there are a lot of powerful scenes from Robert's book and anything we use organically fits into the story were telling."

S.H.I.E.L.D.If rumors are to be believed, Joss Whedon's "S.H.I.E.L.D." television show could begin shooting in January, which would put it on track for ABC's 2013 season. Television Show Auditions has a listing for the show that states it will begin filming mid-January in Los Angeles.

"'S.H.I.E.L.D.' will be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, sharing constancy with the films in that franchise," the listing reads. "'S.H.I.E.L.D.' will be independent from 'The Avengers' film, and people who haven't seen the Marvel movies can jump right in and understand the storylines. There will generally be new characters and agents who are not superheroes, and even though they are a large organization, they will be underdogs since they still exist in that superhero universe. Clark Gregg is playing Agent Phil Coulson, the same role he has played in 'Iron Man' I & II, 'Thor,' and 'The Avengers.' The series will center on his character. Screen Actors Guild Awards nominee Ming-Na Wen has been cast as Agent Melinda May, an ace pilot and weapons expert."

STAR WARS EPISODE VIIEW.com spoke with "Star Wars" expanded universe author Timothy Zahn about the news of "Star Wars Episode VII" being a whole new story -- presumably not a film adaptation of his wildly successful "The Thrawn Trilogy."

"The books were always just the books," the author told EW, saying he was actually briefed on Lucas' plans for the sequels and how his novels would fit in to the universe. "The original idea as I understood it- and Lucas changes his mind off and on, so it may not be what he's thinking right now - but it was going to be three generations. You'd have the original trilogy, then go back to Luke's father and find out what happened to him [in the prequels], and if there was another 7th, 8th, or 9th film, it would be Luke's children. The Thrawn Trilogy really would have fit into the gap."

ARROWThe CW has released a behind-the-scenes look at the stunt work done for "Arrow."

Meanwhile, EW.com has posted a hi-res photo of Jessica de Gouw as Huntress with comments from executive producer Andrew Kreisberg.

"When you watch the episode, someone close to Oliver is almost killed by the Huntress' actions and that sets him on his quest," Kreisberg told EW. "So it's kind of interesting because in some ways he's seeking revenge and then he collides with somebody else who's entire reason for being is revenge. And what's interesting is that Oliver is on autopilot in some respects as far as his mission. Everything is about the mission and righting his father's wrongs. And it's only until he bumps into this sad, damaged, angry but beautiful woman that he realizes how lonely he is and the toll that lying to everybody in his life is taking. So he's going after a bad guy and he suddenly realizes that he has a lot more in common with her than just about anyone else in his family. That creates this amazing fun relationship for them."
