When "The Walking Dead" wraps up its fifth season in March, the AMC drama will go out with a bigger -- or at least longer -- bang than usual.

The season finale, which will air March 29 at 9 p.m., will be an expanded 90-minute episode, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

This isn't the first time "The Walking Dead" has presented a longer than normal episode. The show's second season kicked off with another 90-minute show, leading into the series' first 'split-season' with half the episodes airing with a several-month break before the second half aired.

EW also provides a brief synopsis, which may offer a few hints of what's to come as Rick and his people settle into their new life in Alexandria.

"Daryl finds himself in trouble while out on the run. Meanwhile, in Alexandria, Rick and his group continue to feel like outsiders as danger lurks near the gates."

"The Walking Dead" airs 9 p.m. Sundays on AMC.
