Just two days after its launch, the Kickstarter campaign for the role-playing game based on The Sixth Gun has already exceeded its $5,000 goal by more than $24,000.

According to Oni Press, the publisher of the supernatural Western series by Cullen Bunn, Brian Hurtt and Bill Crabtree, the effort has surpassed $27,000 within the first 24 hours.

"Cullen and I have fantasized about a Sixth Gun RPG for years and to finally have it become a reality is a dream come true," Hurtt said in a statement. "We're blown away by the amazing response from both Sixth Gun and Pinnacle fans who made this happen! Now we're looking forward to see if we can cross the final stretch goal and take the opportunity to expand the scope of the game—and build on the canon of this universe we created — in the form of a new exclusive adventure for the RPG."

Developed by Pinnacle Entertainment Group, the company behind Deadlands and Savage Worlds, the tabletop game -- first announced in August -- will allow fans to create their own adventures within the world of The Sixth Gun, using the rules of the Savage Worlds system.

Fans can use the Kickstarter to preorder the Sixth Gun RPG in softcover or limited-edition hardcover, the Savage Worlds core rulebook, and collections of the comic series. Pledge incentives include character figures -- among them, Drake, Becky, Asher cobb and General Hume -- in 32mm-scale pewter, custom dice, and a game master screen, featuring exclusive art by Hurtt and Crabtree. The Kickstarter campaign continues through June 26.
