Even as NBC officially announced the end of The Office following the upcoming season, the network is moving full steam ahead with the planned Dwight Schrute spinoff The Farm.

The Live Feed reports College Humor regular Thomas Middleditch (The Campaign) has been cast as Jeb, Dwight's pot-growing, aimless younger brother. He joins star Rainn Wilson and the recently added Majandra Delfino (Roswell) and Blake Garrett (Bridesmaids), who'll play Dwight's younger sister Frannie and his nephew Cameron, respectively.

Jeb is described as a happy-go-lucky guy who's bounced from job to job, including worm farmer and Bigfoot hunter, before finally finding success as a marijuana farmer in Northern California.

First rumored in January, the show focuses on Dwight as a beet farmer running a bed and breakfast; former Office showrunner Paul Lieberstein is producing. The Schrute family farm has been featured from time to time on The Office, most notably when Jim and Pam spend the night at the B&B, and when Angela selected it as the site for her wedding.

The new characters and premise will be introduced in a backdoor pilot planned to run this fall as an episode of The Office.
