A 30-second trailer for "Iron Man 3" ran during Super Bowl XLVII with Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., turning on the heroics, saving people in a free fall after their plane explodes in midair. Shortly thereafter on the Iron Man Facebook page a 1:30 trailer debuted with extended footage, highlighted by a shot of Don Cheadle as James Rhodes sporting a new set of armor.

Additionally, the extended trailer features footage of The Mandarin, played by Ben Kingsley, ominously saying "You will never see me coming," immediately followed by the explosive sequence from the 30 second spot.

Loosely based on the 2005-2006 "Extremis" story arc by Warren Ellis and Adi Granov, "Iron Man 3" also stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Jon Favreau, joined by Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale and Ashley Hamilton. It opens internationally on April 25 and in North America on May 3. Watch the extended trailer below.

"Marvel Studios' 'Iron Man 3' pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?"
