The Man of Steel, 300, Ghost Rider, 30 Days of Night: November 16th Comic Reel Wrap

THE MAN OF STEEL

There’s an interesting rumor at Moviehole that claims that Braniac, not Zod is the villain planned for the next cinematic installment.

Meanwhile, the Superman Homepage has a downright inspirational interview with director Bryan Singer, breaking down the magic and myth from the first one and showing some of his intentions.

300

Frank Miller, Zack Snyder and actor Gerard Butler hosted a special screening of the film, and we’ve got all the goods on it here at CBR while you can get a look at some gory photos from the production at IESB.

GHOST RIDER

The new international trailer has now been posted with never-before-seen footage. The film opens February 16th.

30 DAYS OF NIGHT

You can check out the eleventh behind-the-scenes clip from the film at Ghost House Pictures.

X-MEN 4?

Actor Shawn Ashmore told Comingsoon.net that he has a contract in place for a fourth film, but “as far as I’ve been told ‘X3’ was going to be the last big ensemble ‘X-Men’ movie. I would love if they made another one, but I’m not sure that they will.”

THE DARK KNIGHT

According to Show and Stay, costume designer Gary Page will pick up some cowl designs after he gets done with the latest “Harry Potter” sequel. Also, MTV is reporting that Heath Ledger will step in front of the camera for his role as the Joker in mid-2007.

FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER

Reed just got some help paying for all the fancy doodads — a note in a Financial Times article notes that Dune Capital Management (formerly headed by billionaire George Soros) is using its hedge-fund dollars to back a slate of films from 20th Century Fox’s to the tune of $520 million. The sequel for Marvel’s first family is among the films involved in the deal.

WORDS FAIL ME …

We can’t do this without you. The rumors, the scoops, the set photos — they’re all fueled by passionate fans emailing in the goods. The ones who ask, “What do you mean your sister’s dating somebody who works for Miles Millar?” The ones who know the code names of movie projects and scour city permit filings for them. The devoted, the involved. Fans, just like you. Whatever you know, we wanna know, and whether you want your name shouted to the web’s rafters or kept closer than a classified report, we’ve got you covered like a comforter. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble scribe Hannibal Tabu (web site, MySpace blog) saying thank you for your time and indulgence, I’ll have fresh comics reviews online shortly (I had a long but really great day yesterday) and “enough talk — let’s go make with the ‘biff’ and the ‘pow’ already.”
