DC superheroes, the Ninja Turtles, Star Wars characters -- the first "LEGO Movie" was packed with minifig versions of cross-company characters in addition to the film's original creations. Now, as reported over at io9, it looks like the cast of "The LEGO Movie 2" may get a visit from a certain Time Lord.

Sequel director Rob Schrab revealed in the latest episode of Dan Harmon's Harmontown podcast that the "LEGO Movie" sequel team are in the process of negotiating a deal with the BBC to allow the Doctor to team up with Emmet, Wyldstyle and the rest. There's already precedent for a brick version of the TARDIS landing in the middle of LEGO action; a previous deal with the BBC allowed for current Doctor Peter Capaldi to play the part in the "LEGO Dimensions" video game alongside other LEGO properties. This deal has even extended to upcoming LEGO playsets.

Whether or not the Schrab and company are eyeing a cameo (like the one the "Star Wars" characters made in the first film) or a full-fledged role (like Will Arnett's Batman) for the Doctor was not revealed. "The LEGO Movie 2" is scheduled to land in theaters on May 18, 2018.
