Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug that spotlights Luke Evans as Bard the Bowman, plays up the relationship between Orlando Bloom's Legolas and Evangeline Lilly's Tauriel (for good or bad), and, best of all, introduces Benedict Cumberbatch's appropriately chilling voice as the titular dragon.

Elven romance aside, if this trailer doesn't get everyone excited for the Dec. 13 premiere of Peter Jackson's film -- the second in the trilogy adapting J.R.R Tolkien's beloved fantasy novel -- then nothing likely will.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug also stars Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Aidan Turner, Billy Connolly, Graham McTavish, Dean O’Gorman, Mikael Persbrandt, Conan Stevens and many, many more.
