The characters in Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno just can’t catch a break. The Greenpeace-like gang just wanted to fly to the Amazon and help out a dying tribe, but instead experience a plane crash that puts them directly in the path of the very people they intended to aid, who just so happen to be cannibals.
The Green Inferno marks Roth’s fourth completed full-length horror film after Cabin Fever, Hostel and Hostel: Part II. While he hasn’t exactly built up a huge directorial resume, Roth has also spent his time producing films like The Man with the Iron Fists and appearing on screen in Inglourious Basterds and Rock of Ages.
The Green Inferno, which stars Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy and Daryl Sabara, opens Sept. 5.
