Awesome.

David Fincher wowed us all last year with his Facebook biopic The Social Network, and he's in all likelihood going to do it again this year with his adaptation of Stieg Larsson's novel The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which is the first in a trilogy. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross similarly wowed us with their work on The Social Network soundtrack ... and based on this new trailer for Dragon Tattoo, that's going to happen again as well.

The footage is all Fincher, but the music is all Reznor stylings, with splashes of Led Zeppelin and Yeah Yeah Yeahs thrown in. The track is Zep's "Immigrant Song," and YYY's Karen O.'s takes on the singing duties. Wow-worthy stuff, especially the pairing of the music at the end of the trailer with a quick-cutting reveal of the film's title.

If the tune sounds familiar, it's probably because you heard it in the movie's red-band trailer, the one that leaked online over the weekend. Sony was slow to pull it down, according to The Hollywood Reporter, a fact that's led some to believe the leak was staged in the first place. It seems more likely to be a happy accident; maybe it shouldn't have been online yet, but the immediately positive response probably encouraging Sony to not aggressively pursue its removal.
