Artist Shawn Martinbrough has shared an image of actor Jermaine Rivers as Shatter from the upcoming series The Gifted, and the mutant looks pretty true to his comic-counterpart.RELATED: Yes, Polaris Is Magneto’s Daughter on The GiftedFor comparison, the artist put a drawing of the character in black and white right below the picture. The mutant's trademark cracks appear prominently in the photo, and spread a little bit farther across his face than in the drawing. The depression in the side of his head is also a bit less pronounced, but overall, the two look quite similar. Martinbrough captioned the image, "New 'Shatter' image courtesy of @jermaineriversofficial. Co-created by @geoffjohns & I for @marvel making his debut on #TheGifted on #FOX."

Introduced in 2002, in Marvel's Morlocks #1 by Geoff Johns and Martinbrough, Shatter is a member of the Postman's Chicago branch of Morlocks. When Shatter learned he was a mutant, he attempted to commit suicide using his father's gun. However, his new crystalline skin made him virtually invulnerable, causing the bullet to only leave a depression and some cracks on the side of his head. His name derives from that damage to his head.

Developed by Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, The Gifted follows two ordinary parents who discover their children possess extraordinary powers. Forced to go on the run from the government, they join an underground network of mutants and must fight for their survival.
