For years, fans of the Terminator franchise have been demanding a movie that dives right into the post-apocalyptic war between man and machine. Thanks to a new book, "Terminator Genisys: Resetting the Future," fans can get the most thorough look yet at that bleak future. Writer David S. Cohen takes readers on a veritable tour of war-torn Los Angeles, providing an in-depth look at the battlefields of the 2029 Future War.

The filmmakers and designers were tasked with the opportunity to create all new vehicles, body armor, and war machines for "Genisys," pulling visual queues from the previous films while pushing the designs in a new direction. This new book provides a detailed look at those machines and weapons of the future created specifically for the film, including The Reaper, the Violet Cleaver, and the Man-Mower.

Due to extensive spoilers for the new film, "Resetting the Future" won't be out until June 30, just a few days prior to the release of "Terminator Genisys." But until then, check out an excerpt from Cohen's book along with more concept art on i09.

"Terminator Genisys" comes out in theaters on July 1, 2015.
