Add yet another notch to the belt of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

Following an unprecedented $529 million worldwide opening, Deadline reports the Disney sequel accumulated another $40 million to $40.2 million domestically on Monday, shattering the previous Monday record of $27.7 million set by "Spider-Man 2."

Yesterday's estimates bring the North American total for "The Force Awakens" to $288 million. However, that number could change when Disney releases the final tally later today.

Boasting the biggest global opening weekend of all time, the J.J. Abrams film has broken box office records worldwide.
