The CW is rounding out the casting for its new pilot “Frequency” with a lot of familiar faces. Actress Peyton List, who previously appeared on CW’s “The Flash” and “The Tomorrow People” will star as Detective Raimy Sullivan, the lead character in “Frequency.”
List joins previously cast Mekhi Phifer (“Divergent,” “8 Mile,”) and Riley Smith (“90210,” “Beauty and the Beast.”) Both List and Smith are veterans of The CW, and will play father and daughter in the new series. Phifer will play List’s surrogate father and fellow police officer, Lt. Satch DeLeon.
“Frequency” is based on the 1999 film of the same name, which featured Jim Caviezel, who found a way to communicate with his deceased father via ham radio. List will take on Caviezel’s role, and will connect with her father, Riley Smith’s character, 20 years in the past. The two will work together to solve a crime, but according to Deadline, who broke the news of List’s casting, the “butterfly effect” will cause unforeseen consequences.
