Following the events of tonight’s finale of “The Flash,” it appears fans may have a multiverse to look forward to in Season 2.
“What’s fun about this show is that there’s going to be multiple timelines as we move forward,” star Grant Gustin told TV Guide. “I think we’re going to start showing Earth-One and Earth-Two in the near future. There will be kind of different dimensions going on.”
Whether that will mean the introduction of Earth-Two’s Jay Garrick, whose winged helmet was spotted on the set of the spinoff “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” of course remains to be seen.
Tonight’s episode, “Fast Enough,” finds Barry Allen traveling back in time in an attempt to save his mother’s life and spare his father from prison. Gustin acknowledged his mission, perhaps unsurprisingly, “doesn’t necessarily go as planned,” leaving Barry’s future in question.
“So many huge things happen in the episode and I’m not even sure what I can say,” Jesse L. Martin, who plays Joe West, teased in an interview with Variety. “There’s so many surprises, but it’s definitely a cliffhanger. By the end of it, you have to imagine that things are just going to be crazy at the start of season two, because I believe that we’re starting season two directly after the last moment you see at the end of the season.”
“The Flash” airs tonight at 8 ET/PT on The CW.
