When "The Flash" races back on TV screens tonight, it looks like he'll have two new threats to face: villain of the week Tar Pit (Marco Grazzini) and the potential danger of a new device cooked up by Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh). This clip from tonight's ep, titled "Fast Lane," features the showdown between Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and the troublemaking metahuman, and it also shows off Wells' new invention -- a Speed Force Transmitter.

Wells, an traveler from the parallel Earth-2, has spent most of his time on Earth-1 trying to figure out a way to depower the super villain Zoom and rescue his kidnapped daughter. Recent weeks has seen him make a few breakthroughs when it comes to taking on the seemingly unbeatable speedster, and it looks like this Transmitter is another piece of the puzzle.

WALLY FLIRTS WITH DANGER - Barry (Grant Gustin) teams up with Wells (Tom Cavanagh) to figure out a way to close the breaches, but they are distracted by a meta-human nicknamed Tar Pit (guest star Marco Grazzini) who can transform into liquid asphalt. Iris (Candice Patton) is concerned for Wally's (Keiynan Lonsdale) safety after she finds out about his drag racing hobby. When he refuses to stop she makes a bold move that puts her in danger. Rachel Talalay directed the episode with story by Brooke Eikmeier and teleplay by Kai Yu Wu & Joe Peracchio (#212). Original airdate 2/2/2016.

The "Fast Lane" episode of "The Flash" airs tonight at 8 PM ET on the CW.
