Criss first made a name for himself as Blaine Anderson on the Fox musical series “Glee,” and starred in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" for a run on Broadway and in the national tour. “Duet” mars something of a "Glee" reunion, as both “Supergirl” lead actress, Melissa Benoist, and “The Flash” leading man, Grant Gustin, got their starts on the show.

Music Meister is a supervillain with the power to make anyone in earshot burst into song and dance, as if they were players in a musical. He also has a rod that can fire energy bolts that look like music notes. Music Meister’s abilities can only be negated by impeding the victim’s ability to hear. The deaf and hearing impaired are immune to his powers.

Music Meister first appeared in a 2009 episode of the “Batman: The Brave and the Bold” animated series, voiced by Neil Patrick Harris, in which he assembled a singing, dancing group of heroes and villains to hijack a United Nations communications satellite. The character debuted in comics with “The All-New Batman: The Brave and the Bold” #16.

“Duet” will debut on March 21 in the usual time slot for “The Flash” on the CW network. The March 20 episode of “Supergirl” will provide a lead-in for the crossover episode.
