“Sleepy Hollow” actress Jessica Camacho has been cast as the DC Comics superhero Gypsy on The CW’s “The Flash,” TheWrap reports.
Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco Ramon on the drama, teased Gypsy’s introduction during the CW “Fan Feast” Q&A that streamed last week following the show’s midseason finale. “There’s going to be a new visitor to our world named Gypsy,” he said. “DC Comics fans will be familiar with Gypsy. She is going to be coming in our world and Vibe will definitely get to learn some new skills as part of getting to know her. So I’m excited to see how that plays out.”
Created by Gerry Conway and Chuck Patton, Gypsy, aka Cindy Reynolds, was introduced in 1984’s “Justice League of America Annual” #2, the same issue in which Vibe debuted. Part of the Justice League Detroit team assembled by Aquaman following the destruction of the Justice League Satellite, Gypsy possesses the ability to cast illusions, permitting her to blend into the background and effectively become invisible. She can also project frightening images from the minds of opponents.
Camacho, who plays Sophie Foster on “Sleepy Hollow,” also starred on “Last Resort” and appeared in episodes of “Minority Report,” “Longmire” and “Bones.”
Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, “The Flash” stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin and Keiynan Lonsdale.
