Just before "The Flash's" midseason finale, Iris West's boss Erik Larkin met an untimely end. Now, Iris has a new boss: Scott Evans, as played by Tone Bell -- and even his anti-speedster rhetoric can't dampen his chemistry with her.

"It's interesting, because [Scott] can't stand The Flash," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg explained to TVLine. "He thinks The Flash is a phony, and he has a great storyline about why he doesn't believe in heroes anymore. So, whereas Iris has become a little bit like Lois Lane [as] The Flash's biggest booster, her new editor is dedicated to taking some of the shine off [The Flash]."

Kreisberg revealed Evans' anti-speedster views will "lead to a lot of conflict," but "there is chemistry between them."

Additionally, there will be more developments in Iris' relationship with Barry. "Barry has a much bigger thing that he's going to have to tell her coming up soon," Kreisberg shared. "Things are going to change for them in a way that I think [is] going to make fans happy."

Starring Grant Gustin, Carlos Valdes and Jesse L. Martin, "The Flash" returns Tuesday, January 19 at 8 pm EST on The CW.
