The first trailer for Universal's "The Fate of the Furious" dropped back in December, surprising fans by showing a Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) that had betrayed his family for reasons unknown. A new look at the eighth film in the "Fast and the Furious" franchise arrived on Super Bowl Sunday, in one of two Dwayne Johnson-centric promos for the day (along with Paramount's "Baywatch," also starring The Rock).

Johnson's Hobbs greets us with the message that "Dominic Toretto just went rogue" as a set of explosives ignite around our "Fast & Furious" crew. If that wasn't enough of a message, a group of title cards alerts fans that the rules have changed as former nemesis Ian Shaw is recruited in the Toretto manhunt by Mr. Nobody. When Hobbs objects, Shaw believes his extra-small t-shirts are cutting off circulation to his head. Crazy action set pieces include cars flying out of buildings onto city streets, a construction crane used as a battering ram, and cars being chased on a frozen terrain by a rocket-launching submarine.

Directed by F. Gary Gray, "The Fate of the Furious" is scheduled for release on April 14.
