After directing the second and third films in Lionsgate's "Divergent" franchise, Robert Schwentke has decided he won't be sticking around for the finale.

Citing an unnamed source, The Hollywood Reporter contends the director simply needed a break after working back to back on "Insurgent," released last year, and "Allegiant," which debuts March 18. The final installment, "Ascendant," is scheduled to begin filming this summer in Atlanta, which leaves Lionsgate/Summit little time to find Schwentke's replacement.

Based on the bestselling novels by Veronica Roth, "The Divergent Series" stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller and Ansel Elgort. The first two films in the franchise grossed a combined $585.75 million worldwide.
