The CW has announced early renewals for DC Comics-based dramas “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” as well as the fan-favorite "Supernatural," which will head into its 13th season.

“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and “Jane the Virgin" were also part of the announcement, made today in Pasadena, California, as part of the network's presentation during the Television Critics Association's winter press tour.

“Early pickups of these seven series now allow our producers to plan ahead for next season, and gives us a solid base to build on for next season, with original scripted series to roll out all year long,” Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW, told journalists.

Renewal will bring "Arrow" to Season Six, "The Flash" to Season Four, and "Supergirl" and "Legends of Tomorrow" each to Season Three. It will mark "Supergirl's" second season on The CW, following its freshman outing on CBS. There's no news yet about a third season for "iZombie," the dramedy loosely adapted from the DC/Vertigo series by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred.

The news about the network's superhero lineup shouldn't come as a surprise, considering all four dramas rocketed to ratings highs this season with the "Invasion!" crossover, which brought together the characters from all four dramas to confront an alien threat.

The CW's announcement arrives just a week after Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment's president and chief creative officer, teased impending news about a new DC television series.

"Supergirl" returns on The CW on Monday, Jan. 23, followed by "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow" on Tuesday, Jan. 24, and "Arrow" on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
