We continue our tour through the alphabet, with a different cool comic book item each day, from A to Z!

Today we look at one of the best superhero comics out there...

Paul Grist's Jack Staff is a series that is almost like an anthology, even though is stars Grist's patriotic hero, Jack Staff. Along with Staff, though, Grist populates the book with a bunch of re-imagined takes on various public domain British heroes from the past...

Here are some pages from the book from a spotlight I did on the return of Jack Staff last year (the book had seen a slightly less than regular release schedule the past few years)...

Grist is one of the most inventive comic book artists out there - his layouts and designs are truly remarkable.

His inventiveness makes the series work wonderfully as a whole - he had a large cast of characters, and in each issue, he tends to use a lot of them, yet he somehow manages to work them all into the plot with missing a beat.

This week, in the latest issue of the series he even managed to work in some Hostess Cake ads into the story.

What a storyteller!
