DARK KNIGHT RISES
Cinematographer Wally Pfister spoke with British Cinematographer about his work on Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight Rises” and revealed very sparse details about the plot.
“It’s the continuing story of Batman, beginning where it left off last time, with Batman on the run and Gotham City facing continual problems,” Pfister told British Cinematographer. “They realize they need Batman back, but there are new villains he has to tackle. What I can say is that Chris has gathered a lovely family ensemble cast — with Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne again, Gary Oldman back as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, and Michael Caine as Alfred. He has also reunited Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt who we worked with on Inception.”

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS 2
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “X-Men: First Class” sequel is set to begin shooting in January partially due to the potential scheduling conflict actress Jennifer Lawrence has with “Catching Fire.”
While speaking with MTV about his upcoming film “People Like Us,” Alex Kurtzman also gave a quick update on the status of the film adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s “Ender’s Game.”
“[Director] Gavin Hood, the minute that we read his script we realized that in a miraculous way he’d managed to distill down the essence of the book and the big moves to a very understandable clear format,” Kurtzman told MTV. “He had made changes that were I think totally protective of the novel, he hasn’t changed any of the plot, it’s just about not being able to put all of it in one movie. He really distills it down to its essence in a beautiful way and that was an amazing thing to see. It’s an amazing thing to see the movie come to life because it’s such a special and different movie.”
“We’re not naming dates, but I think 2014 will be a tough date for us to make. It’s about getting it right,” Landau told The Guardian. “Movies make release dates; release dates don’t make movies.”
