DARK KNIGHT RISES
According to Deadline, Batman may be joining “The Avengers” — but not in the way you think. Deadline cites an unnamed Warner Bros. executive as saying a new “Dark Knight Rises” trailer will premiere attached to Marvel’s “The Avengers.”
“Yes, our 3rd trailer will be out with The Avengers,” the exec told Deadline. “We see this placement as a good strategic decision. We always want our trailers to be seen with films that people want to see — and a lot of people will be going to The Avengers!”
Furthermore, Comic Book Movie has posted a round-up of spoiler-riffic material discerned from a call sheet for “Dark Knight Rises.” Originally posted on Aliens Archive, the call sheet reveals a number of scene descriptions and a new cast member and role. GAME OF THRONES
Here’s a brand new teaser for next week’s episode of “Game of Thrones,” “The Ghost of Harrenhal.”
Airs Sundays on HBO.
Here’s an intriguing tidbit picked up by the IMDB newscrawler. A Canadian website called SneakPeek.ca reports that “Fringe’s” Andrew Kreisberg has turned in a one-hour pilot script for a drama based on DC Comics’ Booster Gold to be produced by Greg Berlanti. Some may recognize Berlanti’s name not only for his involvement in 2011’s “Green Lantern” as a producer, but also as an executive producer for the upcoming “Arrow” drama for the CW. The rumor is so far completely unconfirmed — although, a “Booster Gold” drama on SyFy would be pretty cool.
Speaking of DC Comics characters adapted into other media, Warner Bros. has tapped Brad Peyton to write and direct the live action “Lobo” film. While no other information was revealed about the live action adaptation of the interspace Bounty Hunter, Peyton will rewrite the most recent script turned in by Don Payne.
THE LONE RANGER
While speaking with EW.com, Johnny Depp spoke about his experience playing Tonto and the character’s new look for the film.
“There’s this very wise quarter, a very tortured and hurt section, an angry and rageful section, and a very understanding and unique side,” Depp told EW. “I saw these parts, almost like dissecting a brain, these slivers of the individual. That makeup inspired me. It just so happened Sattler had painted a bird flying directly behind the warrior’s head. It looked to me like it was sitting on top. I thought: Tonto’s got a bird on his head. It’s his spirit guide in a way. It’s dead to others, but it’s not dead to him. It’s very much alive.”
