So, after the back and forth of the weekend, Edward Norton has finally spoken out about the fate of his Bruce Banner. Posting to his Facebook fan page, the actor writes, “I sincerely hoped it could happen and be great for everyone, but it hasn’t turned out as we all hoped. I know this is disappointing to many people and that makes me sad. But I am very sincerely grateful to Marvel for extending the offer and even more so for giving me the chance to be a par of the Hulk’s long and excellent history.” He also thanks the fans for their support. “It means a lot to me. I grew up with Banner and Hulk and have been a fan of every incarnation. I’m really proud, and very blessed, to have been one of them and will be thrilled to see him live on through other actors.”

GeekTyrant offers an alternative to the Chris Columbus casting rumor from last week. “According to our sources, Christopher Nolan’s brother Jonathan is currently the unannounced director of the Superman reboot film. Word on the lot is that he is attached to direct the film, and has been on the studio lot working on pre-development stuff,” they write. Nolan’s name has been bandied about before. They also mention “auditions” are taking place and suggest “Chuck” star Zachary Levi has taken part. Of course, all of this comes from a “studio source,” so take it with a Soviet salt mine.
