THE AVENGERS 2
More an update on the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole, Kevin Feige spoke with MTV specifically about Thanos and his role in the MCU moving into Phase Two.
“Clearly, there’s a purpose to us putting him in the end of that movie. We do have plans for him,” Feige told MTV. “I wouldn’t say we ever feel the need to rush anything one way or the other. We succeeded in Phase One because we stuck to our guns and stuck to the plan. That plan took place over many, many years and it ultimately paid off. I see Phase Two unfolding in the same way of us taking our time, us doing what’s right for each individual movie, while folding in elements that will not only build up to the culmination of Phase Two, but even Phase Three.”

Speaking of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, SuperHeroHype spoke with “Item 47” star Lizzy Caplan about the possibility of her joining Joss Whedon’s “S.H.I.E.L.D.” cast.
“I can’t really,” Caplan told SHH. “I have my own show so I will not be a regular on the Marvel ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ show. But I’m glad people are so excited about that. I think it’s a good idea… Maybe I could do some little thing.”
Caplan coming in for a guest appearance would be pretty cool and her lack of inclusion in the series would be more in line with Whedon’s statement that he wants the show to be connected, but autonomous, from the rest of the MCU.
Here’s an interesting update on “Transformers 4” from The Hollywood Reporter — Michael Bay plans to partner with Doritos for its “Crash the Super Bowl” contest, which chooses two ads from aspiring filmmakers to air during the Super Bowl. The director of the ad that gets the highest score on USA Today’s Ad Meter of Super Bowl commercials will get a chance to work on “Transformers 4” with the director. THR notes that if a consumer-created ad scores the #1 spot on the ad meter, it will also get $1 million.

According to The Hollywood Reporter FX is nearing a deal with Guillermo del Toro and “Lost’s” Carlton Cuse to adapt “The Strain” into a television series. Originally a prose novel by del Toro and Chuck Hogan, the series has since had a comic book adaptation by Dark Horse Comics, and centers around a vampiric virus that has infected New York.
“Dexter” actress Aimee Garcia spoke with The Chicago Tribune about her role opposite Gary Oldman in the upcoming “Robocop” remake.
“I play Kim. She’s a scientist and her and Gary Oldman help bring Robocop to life,” Garcia told the Chicago Tribune. “She has a Ph.D from MIT and is at the forefront of robotic chemistry and physics. This takes place in 2028. She’s a prodigy handpicked by Gary Oldman’s character to work on this first of its kind experiment. I’ve watched more tech talks than I ever have in my life. I’ve learned so much about the brain. The technical things this girl has to say, I want to make sure I understand what each and everything is. She might be a little bit of a punk too.”
