The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise is getting a dose of new blood in a prequel to the 1974 original, written by Seth M. Sherwood, TheWrap reports.

Titled simply Leatherface, the Millennium Films project is expected to be an origin story, naturally enough, although details are unknown. The prequel follows on the heels of 2013's Texas Chainsaw (aka Texas Chainsaw 3D), which took some cues from Tobe Hooper's horror classic, but brought the setting into the present day.

Sherwood, who has a project in the works for Blumhouse Productions, made it on the 2012 Blood List with his script Interstate 5. He also edits video segments for Comic Book Resources.
