Texas Chainsaw Massacre Bound For Another Remake (3D, Naturally)

by  in Movie News Comment

You wanted another Texas Chainsaw Massacre. That’s not a question, it’s a fact. It’s being remade, despite the fact that it was already remade in a 2003 release. I know I didn’t ask for it, so I’m blaming all of you. That ought to make for some fun comments.

This is serious business, though. Texas Chainsaw Massacre is getting a 3D remake, and Takers director John Luessenhop is in talks to helm it, The Hollywood Reporter reveals. Carl Mazzocone will produce, bringing along the wealth of experience earned from shepherding movies like Body Count, Knee High P.I. and Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd to the big screen. He’s got a deal for up to six movies about Leatherface and his down-home freak family of cannibals, with the hope being to launch a “new franchise.” The plan is to go into production in June.

Please, readers, give me some reason to elevate my hopes for this one. I’m struggling here.
