Terry Crews seems to like working in television. He played the father in the comedy Everybody Hates Chris and then went on to become a big-time action star in the Expendables movies before returning to TV with Are We There Yet? and The Newsroom.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Crews, who had several offers this pilot season, has decided to shoot an untitled cop comedy for Fox headlined by Saturday Night Live alum Andy Samberg.

"Crews will play the no-nonsense captain of a diverse squad of detectives at a New York precinct," THR reports. "Described as being built like an NFL linebacker -- but stronger -- his character used to be a great cop but has lost some of his edge now that he has a family."

Parks and Recreation writers, directors and executive producers Mike Schur and Dan Goor created the series. Phil Lord and Chris Miller of 21 Jump Street fame will direct the pilot which is being written by Schur and Goor.
