After wrapping principal photography this past November, Terminator: Dark Fate is deep in post-production. Now, director Tim Miller has provided a brief update on the progress of the upcoming sequel. In a post on the film's official Twitter account, Miller shared a behind-the-scenes photo straight from the production's editing bay, where he and his team are putting together the film's first trailer. While Miller didn't specify on a release date for the trailer, he hinted that its debut is "weeks away."
The image features Linda Hamilton's return to her iconic role as Sarah Connor, who brandishes what appears to be a rocket launcher in an outdoor setting. She wears the same outfit from previously released official stills.
The upcoming sequel will take place some time after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day and ignore the events of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation and Terminator: Genisys, with only the first two films remaining as canon.
Directed by Tim Miller and produced by James Cameron, Terminator: Dark Fate stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna, Natalia Reyes and Diego Boneta. The film is scheduled for release on November 1.
