Likely more than a few "Doctor Who" fans were taken aback by the outright viciousness and depravity exhibited by David Tennant's character, Kilgrave, in the first trailer for Marvel's "Jessica Jones" series.

But for those who were already familiar with his comic book counterpart, the glimpse at the show answered one question regarding how the show would lean into the villain's traditional nomenclature of the Purple Man; rather than covering Tennant with body paint, it appears that the world takes on a purple hue when his powers of persuasion are being utilized.

Today, a photo, which appeared online as the background image for Netflix's webpage for the series, further plays up the character's violet-hued origins, as we see Jessica (Krysten Ritter) bearing down on Kilgrave, as he stands on a stage, presumably controlling the titular character's actions.

All 13 episodes of "Jessica Jones" arrive on Netflix on November 20.
