Known for his photographs of toys in real-life settings, Brian McCarty was recently commissioned by Nickelodeon to bring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures to life on the streets of New York City. The result, as you might expect, is pretty spectacular.

McCarty shot the little plastic heroes in a half shell dropping into -- and driving through -- Times Square, leaping into action in Williamsburg, and breakdancing in front of Vinnie's Pizzeria in Greenpoint.

The series will be used on licensed property and point-of-purchase displays in Target stores. "Flattered to be offering up some turtle-powered inspiration to the next generation," McCarty said.
