Officially announced in July, alongside “Batman and Harley Quinn," at Comic-Con International in San Diego, the project is an adaptation of the seminal 1984 DC Comics storyline by Marv Wolfman and George Perez.

Unfolding in “Tales of the Teen Titans” #42-44 and the Annual #3, "The Judas Contract" brings together long-brewing threads involving the Deathstroke's contract to deliver the Titans to the villainous organization H.I.V.E., and the betrayal of the team by new member Terra, who was working with the mercenary from the very beginning. The arc also marked the debut of Dick Grayson as Nightwing.

The acclaimed storyline has had far-reaching influence, with the ramifications of the events in "The Judas Contract" playing out in subsequent comic books, and inspiring an arc of the "Teen Titans" animated series.

A direct-to-DVD adaptation was originally announced in 2006 as part of the DC Universe Original Movies, but it was subsequently canceled due to a perceived lack of "broad fanbase appeal."

Now "Teen Titans: The Judas Contract" is set to arrive in the spring, between the release of the animated "Justice League Dark" and "Batman and Harley Quinn."
