Visitors to the historic city of Kyoto this summer will get to experience several unique Demon Slayer attractions.

As reported by Mantan Web, the producers of Demon Slayer and the city of Tokyo are teaming up to offer tourists a unique recreation of the anime and manga's fan-favorite Entertainment District arc. While the arc notably took place in Tokyo's Yoshiwara district during the Taisho era, the Kyoto Toei Studio Park, a theme park/movie studio that's known for its authentic recreation of Edo era buildings, is being redecorated to recreate scenes from the action-packed arc, which visitors will be able to take photos in. The promotion will extend out into the city of Kyoto itself, where tourists will be able to collect exclusive, free kyomaru uchiwa (traditional Japanese fans) decorated with new art of the series' characters at locations throughout the city's historical hanamachi districts, which are known for the geisha that live and work there. The Keifuku Electrical Railroad, a railway company based in the city, will also decorate some of its passenger cars with art from the promotion.

The Entertainment District arc is widely regarded as one of the best parts of Koyoharu Gotouge's hit Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba manga. The arc sees the series' central group of characters, the selfless Tanjiro, his sister Nezuko, the cowardly Zenitsu and the brash Inosuke, arriving in the big city to assist the Demon Slayer Corps' Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui. The group is tasked with investigating a series of possibly demon-related disappearances within the area's red light district. The arc was adapted into animation in late 2021, where it formed the basis for most of the anime series' second season. The anime adaptation was similarly lauded, with critics and fans praising studio Ufotable's feature-quality animation and intricate action choreography.

The promotions will be held in the city from July 23 until Oct. 27.

The city of Kyoto used to be the country's capital city and is now considered one of Japan's major tourist centers. Japan recently eased their COVID-19 related travel restrictions and has begun letting in foreign tourists for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic. Currently, visitors will be required to follow the country's public safety protocols, including follwing mask mandates and purchasing medical insurance, and will be monitored for the duration of their visit by designated tour leaders.
