Summary
Rise of the Guardians is a DreamWorks Animation picture based on the stories of William Joyce, such as The Guardians of Childhood and The Man in the Moon. Jack Frost (Chris Pine) exists as the Spirit of Winter, who brings the fun and joy of the winter season but does not know how he ended up this way. However, when the world's children are in danger due to the nightmarish machinations of Pitch Black (Jude Law), the Guardians convene and decide to name the next member of their group - Jack Frost. Unsure of what he is the guardian of, Jack is reluctant to accept the position, but the encroaching danger of Pitch Black sends him into action to work together with the Guardians while trying to find out who he is along the way. Rise of the Guardians was released in 2012 with a rumored sequel that never came to fruition.
