Syfy has reportedly ordered a pilot based on Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson's four-issue Image Comics series "Happy!" Universal Cable Productions is producing the project.

According to Deadline, Morrison and "Crank" writer-director Brian Taylor are writing the Happy! pilot. Neal Moritz, Pavun Shetty and Toby Jaffe of Original Film ("The Fast and the Furious"), alongside Morrison and Taylor, will executive produce.

The series follows “Nick Sax, a corrupt, intoxicated, ex-cop turned hit-man adrift in a twilight world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit goes wrong, Nick finds a bullet in his side, the cops and the mob on his tail and a monstrous killer in a Santa suit on the loose. But his world is about to be changed forever by Happy, a tiny (imaginary) blue winged horse with a relentlessly positive attitude.”

Directed by Taylor, the "Happy!" pilot presumably goes into production later this year.

Additionally, Syfy has ordered pilots for "The Machine" and and "The Haunted." A sci-fi set to explore the dangers of artificial intelligence, "The Machine" follows "the epic conflict between man and technology through the lives and motivations of six interwoven characters – each of whom holds the key to humanity’s victory or its destruction." "The Haunted," a supernatural horror-drama, sees four siblings reunite after their parents' death, at the consequence of being haunted by ghosts -- literally -- of their past.
