The Superman prequel show Krypton is revving up over at Syfy, and now Comic-Con International in San Diego has brought the latest teaser for the series that promises to tell the untold story of Superman’s heritage.

The trailer rehashes footage revealed in the extended trailer that helped announce the superhero-themed series back in April. Perhaps the most notable difference between the original trailer and the new teaser is the change in date, positioning the series for release in 2018 instead of the previously projected 2017. This is a change that was announced back in May, but has only just been reflected in promotional material for the show.

Krypton will follow Superman’s grandfather as he battles for redemption on the Kryptonian homeworld. Krypton is the homeworld of Kal-El, the super strong alien who was sent across the vastness of space on the eve of his planet’s demise, only to land on Earth and eventually become its most ardent defender as Superman.

Debuting on the Syfy channel in 2018, Krypton is developed by David S. Goyer and Damian Kindler and stars Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell, Ian McElhinney, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day and Aaron Pierre.
