There’s a story in Variety (subscription required) about Big Blue lending a hand to the King of the Seas. “It’s expected that much of the CW’s promo resources will be aimed at letting people know there’s a new network in town — with shows they already know and love. Parent companies Time Warner and CBS Corp. will help with everything from saturation spots on CBS Radio stations to a potential ‘Aquaman’ trailer attached to summer tentpole ‘Superman Returns.'”

The often helpful actor Ron Perlman told Sci Fi Wire that the sequel has a working title: “Hellboy 2: The Golden Army.” “I think that that’s an invention based on a number of different things that have appeared in other comic books,” Perlman said. “But basically the idea for [‘Hellboy 2’] was something that was hatched by [‘Hellboy’ comic-book creator] Mike Mignola, with [‘Hellboy’ writer-director] Guillermo [del Toro] sitting alongside of him. And then Guillermo, of course, did all of the writing. But, you know, the story was Mignola.”
There’s a story at If Magazine director Timur Bekmambetov talked about his involvement with the Mark Millar adaptation. “it’s a Universal project and we’re developing it now and I hope we will produce it. I like the comic books. It’s a very interesting concept and as a story, I like a lot of the story itself, because it’s risky and very provocative. It has a twist and good characters. I think it will be a big movie. The characters will be the same, but the world will be a little bit different. It’s difficult for me to just follow. It’s interesting for me to create. I feel a little bit different how this world has to be executed.”
LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES
We got an email from Scott Sharritt pointing out that actor Adam Wylie posted over at his blog that he will be voicing Brainiac 5 on the show.
SIN CITY 2
Rosario Dawson told Sci Fi Wire that director Robert Rodriguez wants Angelina Jolie to star in “Sin City 2” and is delaying production to accommodate Jolie’s current pregnancy. “The film’s been kind of postponed because Robert has been interested in Angelina Jolie for the lead,” Dawson said. “But she’s very pregnant right now. So that’s putting an understandable hold on the film.” Dawson also talks about how her role develops in the sequel.

Writer Simon Kinberg is quoted at the XVerse message boards saying, “I know Warner Brothers is actively developing the feature. I think theyÕre even talking about developing a trilogy. V FOR VENDETTA

Almost done? Almost done … or so Sci Fi Wire heard from creative wunderkind Joss Whedon. m probably going to turn it in in a few days,” Whedon said. It’s coming along. … There will be all of the expected stuff. Of course there will be the bracelets; there will be the invisible jet, the lasso, all of that. It’s about girls maturing, a rite of passage, that kind of thing.”
