The Man of Steel is headed back to The CW thanks to "Supergirl," but it looks like he's not alone. A new set video has surfaced online and shows him battling what appears to be a classic Superman villain: Metallo.

In the video, Tyler Hoechlin's Superman goes toe-to-toe with a villain with a chunk of Kryptonite embedded in his chest. This is reminiscent of the comic book character John Corben, aka Metallo, who -- in New 52 continuity -- stays alive by the power of a Kryptonite heart.

There has been no official casting announcement regarding Metallo, so it is unclear at this time who is playing the character.

The second season of "Supergirl" is scheduled to premiere on Monday, October 10 at 8 pm EST on The CW, switching networks after a first season on CBS.
