During today's presentation at the Television Critics Association event, plenty of details were revealed about the CW's slate of DC superhero shows. "Supergirl" in particular had a few big announcements in the form of character additions. As reported by Deadline, Sharon Leal will appear on the show as Miss Martian while Chris Wood will play Mon-El.

It's unknown what role Miss Martian will play on the show or what relationship she will have with Martian Manhunter (David Harewood). Sharon Leal previously appeared as Zuri Ellis in the NBC series "Grimm." In the comics, Miss Martian is a White Martian named M'gann M'orzz who served as a member of the Teen Titans.

As for Mon-El, Screen Crush revealed that Chris Wood's character will be who emerges from the pod glimpsed in the "Supergirl" season finale. He's described as a character with powers similar to that of Supergirl and hails from the planet Daxam. In the comics, Mon-El has close ties with the Legion of Super-Heroes and, with powers similar to Superman, in incredibly powerful. Wood's casting was previously teased in July.

In addition to Miss Martian and Mon-El, "Supergirl" season two will also feature Lena Luthor, Maggie Sawyer, Snapper Carr and Superman.

It was also revealed during the TCA panel that "Supergirl" will crossover with "The Flash" for a musical two-parter in the back half of the season. The second season of "Supergirl" is scheduled to premiere on Monday, October 10 at 8 pm EST on The CW, switching networks after a first season on CBS.
