In the footage, we see several returning faces, including Calista Flockhart's Cat Grant and Tyler Hoechlin's Superman, as well as a new breed of evil sent to test the Girl of Steel in the form of Mark Gibbon's imposing take on longtime Superman villain General Zod. However, despite having to deal with the formidable forces of Zod, and her Kryptonian cousin, it seems as though these are merely the battles before the war, as Kara's final test will be whether she can defeat Teri Hatcher's Rhea and free not just National City, but the entire Earth, from Daxamite control.

Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) challenges Rhea (guest star Teri Hatcher) to battle to save National City. Meanwhile, Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) returns and Cat Grant (guest star Calista Flockhart) offers Supergirl some sage advice.
