A giant conglomerate like Warner Bros. isn't going to let an opportunity for some strategic corporate synergy pass by, and The CW wasn't going to let this season of Supergirl wrap without paying tribute to another iconic DC Comics superhero who happens to have her first solo film in 75 years opening 11 days from now -- Wonder Woman.

Fittingly, a playful promo debuted during Monday night's Supergirl second season finale that features series star Melissa Benoist (Supergirl/Kara Danver) and co-star Chyler Leigh (Alex Danvers), plus recurring guest stars Lynda Carter (President Olivia Marsdin) and Teri Hatcher (Rhea) at National City's alien bar. As a "These Boots Are Made For Walking" cover plays, Rhea unexpectedly compliments Supergirl's boots -- which by the end of the promo, are Wonder Woman's -- and Kara responds, "I borrowed them from a friend," before striking Wonder Woman's signature pose.

Of course, the fact that Carter famously played Wonder Woman on TV from 1975 to 1979 is an added bonus. The spot that aired on The CW was 30 seconds long, but Warner Bros. Television released a 45-second version online, viewable above.

Tonight's episode of Supergirl, with the Elizabeth Warren-referencing title of "Nevertheless, She Persisted," ends the show's second season, and it's been renewed for a third, back at its Mondays at 8 p.m. time slot. Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, will hit theaters on June 2.
