Plenty of topics were covered during “Supergirl’s” presentation during Los Angeles’ PaleyFest this past Sunday, including information regarding the upcoming crossover episode with “The Flash.” The cast and crew also discussed what’s to come in season two of the show, now that it’s been confirmed that “Supergirl” will return to CBS for a second year. Executive producer Ali Adler gave a hint about what’s to come, saying that there really is no idea to out-there for “Supergirl” to tackle.
“Comet the Superhorse, Streaky the Supercat — we love them all,” said Adler during PaleyFest. “I think that we just hope to continue with this tremendous cast and make episodes for many years to come. We’ll exploit every little thing, I promise. We’ll get in there and turn it on its head and try to make something. I mean, we’ve talked about Streaky. So yeah, definitely we’ll embrace all the canon.”
This is in line with how “Supergirl” has treated the comics canon in season one. So far “Supergirl” has done everything from introduce a Bizarro version of the hero to adapt Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ classic Superman story “For The Man Who Has Everything.” They’ve even added Martian Manhunter to the cast, fought villains like Livewire and Red Tornado and paid a visit to Superman’s Fortress of Solitude.
“Supergirl” airs on Mondays at 8 PM ET on CBS.
